EIGHT more level crossings will be removed along the Frankston line as part of the Labor state government’s promise to separate 50 road and rail intersections across Victoria’s rail network. WORKS have begun on a $4 million lifesaving club and Indigenous gathering place in Mordialloc, with the “first sod” turned by club president Grant Rattenbury and the mayor, Cr Geoff Gledhill, last week. FIMMA Constructions have been chosen for the Peter Scullin Reserve lifesaving club – built in 1955 – and indigenous gathering place. The works have been funded by the council ($2.94 million), state government in association with Life Saving Victoria ($1 million) and the Mordialloc Surf Lifesaving Club ($100,000). Police have located a second Ferrari burnout in Frankston this morning which is believed to be one of two Ferraris stolen from a business in Braeside last week. Emergency services were called to Jolly Street just before 6.30am and found the red 1986 328 Ferrari fully alight. Kingston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are continuing to investigate the theft of the two luxury Ferraris and appeal for anyone with information to contact police. AN all-abilities dance crew based in Frankston is preparing to bust some moves at a free fun day on Sunday 29 November. The BAM Allstars group runs weekly dance classes for children, teens and adults with disabilities in Frankston and Brighton. FRANKSTON detectives are seeking a man who robbed the 7-Eleven convenience store, Amayla Crescent, Carrum Downs, in the early hours of Thursday 15 October. A man wearing a dirt bike helmet, blue-and-white flannelette shirt, and shorts, approached the counter and verbally threatened a staff member, 22, before demanding cash. The man was handed a quantity of money and fled the store. No vehicle was seen.
