KINGSTON Council is calling for local community groups to apply for annual grants. Applications are open now for council’s 2023/2024 annual grants. Last year council awarded $1.62 million through the program. There are four categories available for potential applicants – annual grants, arts grants, local makers and creative business grants, and children’s week grants. Applicants for the annual grants category can receive up to $10,000. A STONE cutting business has been slapped with a $2000 fine for contaminating Mordialloc Creek. EPA Victoria said in a statement that Century of Stone Ltd, which trades as Century Marble out of Boundary Road in Braeside, had allowed runoff from its stone to flow down a stormwater drain and into Mordialloc Creek. The business cuts stone while it is wet to cut down on dust emissions, EPA Victoria said. A NEW production will bring together cabaret, dance, vaudeville, magic, circus, and comedy on the Frankston Arts Centre stage next month. Club Soda is a new show from Raconteur Productions, the team behind The Paris Underground Cabaret. Club Soda features performances from dancer Eden Read, magician Julia Madotti, illusionist Richard Vegas, circus artist Hannah Trott, and actor Tim Rutty.
