THE number of reported family violence incidents in the Kingston local government area continues to rise. Victoria’s Crime Statistics Agency put out its latest summary of statistics last week. It found that reported family violence incidents in Kingston had grown for a fourth consecutive year. There were 1886 reported incidents between September 2021 and September 2022, a 7.6 per cent increase on the previous year. Women were the recorded victims of domestic violence 1413 times in the last year in Kingston. Men were the victims on 448 occasions. CRICKET PROVINCIAL BAXTER overcame a first innings loss to grab an outright win against Sorrento on day two of their match on Saturday On day one, Baxter succumbed to a brutal first innings defeat. They were bowled out for 63 in response to Sorrento’s 110. Sorrento made a second innings total of 7/137. EACH weekday, the Frankston Brekky Club puts meals on the table and smiles on the faces of people doing it tough. The club runs daily hot breakfasts from Monday to Friday for people who are struggling to afford food. The breakfasts have been held at Frankston’s Chisholm TAFE campus for the last four years. After giving so much to the community, the club is now asking the community to return the favour and help keep it up and running. THE number of criminal offences recorded in Frankston has decreased for a second consecutive year. Victoria’s Crime Statistics Agency put out its latest summary of statistics last week. It found that the number of recorded offences in Frankston has dropped by 2.6 per cent this year. The CSA’s statistics were compiled between September 2021 and September 2022, and compared to the same period the year prior. CRICKET PROVINCIAL AN eight-wicket masterclass from Jake Wood was the difference between Baxter and Sorrento on Saturday. Sorrento batted first at David Macfarlane Reserve on day one of the two day matchup. They struggled, only managing to score 110 from 45 overs before being sent back to the sheds. Sorrento would have to be brilliant with the ball to prevent defeat. They proved more than up to the task.
