MOTORISTS who have been caught by the notorious speed camera at the intersection of Nepean Highway and Davey Street in Frankston will have their fines waived. Following a recommendation by the road safety camera commissioner, Victoria Police has elected to withdraw speeding infringements issued at the intersection between 15 April and 16 June this year. Motorists who were travelling southbound between 40 kmph and 60mph will have their fines excused. Lost demerit points will also be reinstated. PEOPLE experiencing homelessness have been asked to move on from Olivers Hill. Earlier this month, a man sleeping in his car at the base of Olivers Hill posted on the Frankston Noticeboard Facebook page that he and other rough sleepers at the site were being told to vacate by Frankston Council. CONSULTATION on new planning controls for the Endeavour Cove site in Patterson Lakes has closed. Kingston Council is drafting new planning controls for the marina land which would give it more control over future developments. Any final decision on changes to the planning controls will be made by the state government’s planning minister. The current planning controls were recently tested at a Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal hearing. FORMER Frankston MP Geoff Shaw will lead Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party at next month’s state election. Palmer announced Shaw as the party’s Victorian leader last week. Shaw said at a press conference that he was running for office to remove Premier Daniel Andrews from power. Shaw will stand for the Legislative Council in the Northern Victoria region.
