CRIME in Frankston is on the downturn, according to the latest figures from the Crime Statistics Agency. Statistics released last month by the CSA measured crimes recorded in local government areas for the year ending September 2019. Those figures revealed that there were 10,977 total criminal incidents in Frankston in 2019, down 1.1 per cent from 11,096 the previous year. The CSA’s figures revealed that the criminal incident rate has dropped year on year in Frankston since 2016. FRANKSTON councillors have been behaving in a “disrespectful, hostile, and aggressive” way at meetings according to the state government appointed municipal monitor. Prue Digby was appointed to oversee the council’s conduct and governance for the period covering December 2017 to June 2019. Her final report into the council was made public last week. THE Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal has rejected a proposal to grant a planning permit for a ten storey apartment building in Patterson Lakes. Two 10 storey developments had been planned at the Cove site in Patterson Lakes, including a 66 dwelling building for 64 Pier One Drive, and a 142 dwelling building for 54 Pier One Drive. A REPORT will be prepared by Frankston Council officers looking into whether developers embroiled in the IBAC investigation into alleged corruption at Casey Council have lodged applications in Frankston.
