FRANKSTON councillors are set to discuss the merit of moving the Frankston Coast Guard into the troubled Yacht Club building. AN 18-year-old man has escaped with non life-threatening injuries after being stabbed multiple times on Fifth Avenue, Aspendale. Police were told that the man had been in a “verbal altercation with a youth” at around 1am, Friday 4 October. A brawl later broke out with up to ten youths involved in the alleged incident. Police allege that an unidentified youth stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene. The victim, from Langwarrin, was taken to the hospital by his friends. UNDER 12s players at Langwarrin Soccer Club have returned from a competition in Japan as winners. In September last year, the side qualified for the Tomsan Cup tournament in Japan by winning a national seven on seven competition. The cup is an eight vs eight tournament competed over two days. The side arrived in Japan and got straight to work with 10 practice games in just three days. The cup kicked off on 22 September, with Langwarrin talking out a win in their first game 1-0. THE youth mayor program at Frankston Council has been given the chop. The program ran for less than two years. Gerard Felipe was appointed the inaugural youth mayor in early 2018, and completed a one year term. The second youth mayor Aaron Quarrell resigned four months into his term. At council’s most recent meeting, councillors voted to discontinue the program.
