A PUSH for former employees of the Bay Hotel in Mordialloc to be paid is gaining momentum, after workers made public claims that they are still owed wages. The hotel suddenly shut its doors last month. Workers have now gone public with allegations that they are still owed pay from their time in employment at the restaurant. DIVISION ONE ROSEBUD came within a whisker of succeeding in a brilliant comeback effort against Sorrento on Saturday. The contest, played on Sorrento’s home turf, see sawed throughout the first half. Supporters at Crib Point Recreation Reserve were treated to a brilliant first half display from their side, as the Magpies piled on 11 goals to two. FRANKSTON Council have backed out of a move to sell a parcel of public land on Evelyn Street to the Department of Justice. Council voted on 18 February to negotiate the sale of the land in a vote that was intended to take place behind closed doors. KINGSTON Council has launched a campaign to curb the negative influence of poker machines in the municipality. Punters in the Kingston municipality lost a whopping $86 million on pokies in the 2017-2018 financial year. Only eight municipalities in Victoria suffered higher losses than Kingston on electronic gaming machines.
