THE winners of the Frankston Council election have been officially declared, and will be sworn in this week. David Asker and Nathan Butler were the final two candidates to be declared the winners of their wards last week. APPROVAL for a 14-storey apartment building at the corner of Beach Street and Nepean Highway has been granted. The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal last week gave the green light to plans to build a high-rise building at 424/426 Nepean Highway. MORE than 50 women set off from Frankston Pier last week to walk all the way to the Cape Schanck lighthouse.The “Frank to Schanck” trek was organised by the Women’s Spirit Project. The registered charity aims to help women experiencing disadvantage by getting them involved with fitness, health, and wellbeing activities.The 60 kilometer journey from Frankston to Cape Schanck began on Friday and concluded on Sunday. AN audit of the Mt Eliza Junior Football Club has concluded. Earlier this year amidst a committee overhaul, the Frankston and District Junior Football League banned Mt Eliza JFC from hosting home games. The league said that the club had violated its own constitution.At a special general meeting on 19 June, Mt Eliza JFC addressed the issue by appointing a new committee. The club also voted to investigate alleged breaches of the club’s constitution, policies and code of conduct.
