KINGSTON councillor Hadi Saab is calling for the federal government to offer help to Druze civilians fleeing violence in Syria. Druze and Bedouin militants have been fighting in Sweida in southern Syria throughout July. FRANKSTON Council is escalating its dispute with a Nepean Highway homeowner to stop him from illegally building a seawall on Frankston Beach. The property owner came under fire earlier this year when it was revealed he was allegedly conducting illegal works on public land at the back of his property. Mt Eliza hosted the match with Dromana at Emil Madsen Reserve on Saturday afternoon. Poor goalkicking cost Dromana badly. CAR thieves using electronic key reprogramming devices to steal vehicles are being targeted by police.Three people have been convicted recently for using the devices. A 34-year-old man received a two-year sentence after stealing a Nissan Patrol from a dealership on Dandenong Road in Frankston, which was later found in Seaford with an electronic key reprogramming tool inside. A 27-year-old man was sentenced to eight months in prison after stealing a 2016 Holden Clubsport wagon parked on Cliff Road in Frankston. He used a key mimicking tool to break into the car. FRANKSTON Council has tapped its infrastructure and operation director to serve as interim CEO.Cam Arullanantham has been appointed to succeed outgoing CEO Phil Cantillon on an interim basis. Arullanantham will begin on 18 July. Arullanantham has worked at Frankston Council as director of infrastructure and operations since 2020. Before that he was council’s acting director of community assets and manager of buildings and facilities during the Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre construction.
