THE danger of rising sea levels has inspired Frankston students to team up with French students on a documentary. Frankston High School students have been working on the film since 2019. They have been liaising with students from French coastal community Lycée Morlaix to complete the project. The film is a 45-minute documentary on rising seas. FRANKSTON MP Paul Edbrooke says he is thankful to be alive after surviving a plane crash last week. Edbrooke was one of 17 people aboard a Skydive Australia light plane which crashed in Connewarre near Barwon Heads shortly after taking off at around 8am on Friday, 20 October. He sustained injuries and was taken to hospital. Ambulance Victoria has confirmed that seven people were taken to hospital after the crash – all injured are in a stable condition. WEAPONS were seized by police in Aspendale and Parkdale last week as part of an operation across the Kingston and Glen Eira Council areas. Victoria Police conducted nearly 50 firearm prohibition order checks between 9 October and 13 October for “Operation Relentless”. They seized a handgun from an Aspendale home, two machetes from Parkdale, a handmade firearm from Caulfield South, and a dagger from Clayton. THE Registered Aboriginal Party overseeing the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula areas entered “special administration” last month. Registered Aboriginal Parties are appointed to provide advice and knowledge on Aboriginal places and Aboriginal objects in their region. Their responsibilities include evaluating cultural heritage management plans and cultural heritage permit applications. The Bunurong Land Council is the appointed RAP for an area covering Frankston, the Mornington Peninsula, Kingston, Casey, Cardinia, Wyndham, and Bass Coast. CRICKET PROVINCIAL A MASSIVE opening stand between Dale Elmi and Luke Long has helped Baden Powell score an impressive win over Pines. Baden Powell was sent in to bat first on Saturday at Pat Rollo Reserve. Elmi and Long were awesome, scoring 166 runs between them before the first wicket fell.
