MPFNL MEN’S DIV ONE MPFNL Division One senior men kicked off their 2026 season with two Good Friday clashes. Dromana travelled to Mornington to take on the Bulldogs. The first quarter was tight with both teams managing two goals, but Dromana had five more shots on goal to end the quarter 2.1 to 2.6 in favour of the Tigers. PROVINCIAL MORNINGTON have officially been crowned the 2025/25 season winners of the MPCA Provincial Division after clinching the grand final win. Mornington took on Red Hill in their two-day clash at Red Hill Recreation Reserve on 21 and 22 March. Red Hill won the toss and elected to bat first, putting on the pressure by finishing up at 10/181 after 76.1 overs. PROVINCIAL THE two-day clash between Mornington and Pines in their semi-final was expected to be a win for Pines due to their domination throughout the season, but in a turn of events, Mornington was able to come out on top. Mornington won the toss and elected to bat, and despite getting four ducks, they had a couple of high scorers. PROVINCIAL IN the last weekend of the regular season, Heatherhill took on Mornington in what should have been an easy win for Mornington but instead turned into an unexpected defeat. Heatherhill won the toss and took to the crease first, with Sithum Peiris making 69 runs and Tahsinullah Sultani making 37 runs off 25 balls. PROVINCIAL BADEN Powell easily secured the win on the second day of their clash against Mornington on Saturday (28 February), finishing up with 6/129. The result leaves Baden Powell and Mornington third and fourth on the ladder respectively. Opener Luke Long remained the batsman with the highest runs for Baden Powell, adding 10 last week’s 44 to finishing up on 54 runs.
