A GROUP of Mt Eliza residents wants Mornington Peninsula Shire to build a footpath along Baden Powell Drive between Humphries Road and Nepean Highway to make “this treacherous piece of road” safer for pedestrians. MT ELIZA man Bill Robinson got a shock when he saw what he thought was a man’s body floating face down in the water off Sunnyside beach last week. RETIREMENT village proprietor Chas Jacobsen has bought the last parcel of the former Ansett estate in Mt Eliza for an “undisclosed sum”, believed to be around $33 million. The 22.3-hectare block is an addition to the neighbouring 11.7-hectare Gunyong Valley estate which he bought from the estate of the late Lady Joan Ansett for $14.5 million in 2006.
