A MAN was expected to be remanded in custody overnight after a bizarre kidnapping in Frankston on Saturday. In what police describe as an “isolated incident” and “burglary gone wrong” the Frankston man, 47, is alleged to have entered a Grimwade Cr, Frankston, home before 5.30pm. When the home’s owner, 54, returned he was allegedly threatened with a knife and, after a struggle, tied up and forced into the passenger seat of his black Volvo sedan with his alleged attacker at the wheel. A CFA career firefighter is riding across Victoria to raise awareness of mental health as a result of his experience with depression. Wangaratta-based operations officer Terry Heafield stopped off at Mornington fire station on Friday for morning tea and to speak of his experiences. He told firefighters to seek help and not be ashamed if they were depressed. He said depression should be seen as an ailment, not a weakness. POLICE are investigating a fire bombing in Frankston North, 7.40pm, Monday 15 August. Senior Constable Jarrad Brookman, of Frankston CIU, said a man walked up the driveway of the Candlebark Crescent house holding a bottle filled with flammable liquid.
