Homicide Squad detectives with the assistance of the Special Operations Group have arrested a man wanted on warrant in relation to a fatal stabbing in Chelsea Heights last month.

It is alleged that 44-year-old Bon Beach man Ricky Thompson was involved in a verbal argument in the car park of a licensed premises on 18 June.

Ricky was subsequently stabbed and passed away in hospital from his injuries.

A 27-year-old Frankston man was arrested at a rural property at Toora, in Gippsland, early this morning and has been charged with one count of murder.

He will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

A male and a female also at the Toora property are currently assisting investigators with their enquiries.
