A CARRUM Downs man died after being crushed by earth-moving equipment he was operating in Moorhen Cr on Thursday.
The 36 year old, a licensed operator, was landscaping the front yard of his home when he is believed to have jumped out of the machine and caught between the descending bucket and the frame.
Sergeant Mark Sims, of Carrum Downs police, said the man died instantly. He was found by family members.
Police and WorkSafe inspectors are compiling a brief for the Coroner.
