Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 59-year-old woman with intentionally cause serious injury following a serious assault in Seaford on Saturday evening.
Police were called to a residential property in Broughton Street following reports of an altercation between a man and a woman shortly before 9.30pm.
It is believed the 59-year-old woman and the 64-year-old man are known to one another and both reside at the property.
Gayle Dunlop faced an out of sessions hearing overnight and was remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court today.
The 64-year-old injured man remains in hospital in a life threatening condition.
Homicide Squad detectives have taken over the investigation.
