Frankston Highway Patrol members have impounded a Holden HSV utility after the driver was caught hooning in his car at Carrum Downs last night.
The officer’s attention was drawn to the black utility after it performed a burn out before fishtailing on Ballarto Road just after 9.40pm.
Shortly afterwards the police members watched a repeat performance of the hooning, this time immediately outside the Carrum Downs Police station.
The car was intercepted and the driver, a 31-year-old man, was interviewed for driving offences.
A roadside drug test indicated the presence of an illicit drug in his system, but he refused a further drug test.
His vehicle was impounded for the next month and he is facing costs of over $1,000.
The Carrum Downs man is expected to be charged on summons for improper use of a car, careless driving and refuse an oral fluid test.
