Police are investigating following a hit-run collision involving a pedestrian and a motorcycle in Carrum Downs this evening.

It is believed three to five “trail bike” motorcycles were travelling east through a shopping centre car park on Hall Road, when one of them struck a woman about 5.10pm.

Investigators were told the motorcycles failed to stop and left the scene.

The 34-year-old Carrum Downs woman has been airlifted to The Alfred hospital with life threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at crimestoppersvic.com.au
