Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a two car collision which occurred in Carrum Downs yesterday (6 December) afternoon.

Investigators have been told that a Holden Commodore was travelling south along Frankston-Dandenong Road around 1.45pm.

The driver of the Commodore, believed to be a male in his 70s, lost control of the car which crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a north bound Ford Roadster.

The driver of the Ford died at the scene while her male passenger and the driver of the Holden were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to make a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
