Kingston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following two aggravated burglaries in Langwarrin and Dingley Village last week.
Police believe that a man has gotten out of a white utility and entered a business on Martlesham Drive, Langwarrin on Tuesday 2 February about 12.40am.
About five minutes later the offender returned to the front of the business and stole a white Nissan Patrol.
Detectives believe that the offenders have then attended a Dingley Village residence a short time later.
A 52-year-old man was woken by a loud noise in his Harrier Court residence and has seen what is believed to be the same white utility backed up to his garage with the tailgate down about 2.30am.
The victim also observed a white Nissan Patrol, which detectives believe to be the stolen vehicle from the Langwarrin business, parked outside his house.
The man has walked to the front door of his house and yelled at the four unknown male offenders to leave.
While walking out of his house, the victim has been hit by the white utility reversing.
The victim has attempted to confront the male driver of the Nissan Patrol as he was trying to leave the scene.
The offending driver of the white Nissan has turned around at the end of the court and driven straight at the victim.
The victim has managed to jump out of the way of the Nissan Patrol.
One of the male offenders is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, between 25-28 years of age, about 173cm tall, with a stocky build and dark brown hair that is short on the sides and longer on top.
He was wearing a grey singlet at the time of the incident.
Police have released a facial composite of the man in the hope that someone may recognise him.
