A THREE level multi-storey car park will be built at Frankston hospital. The extra 750 spaces will ease the burden of parking.
The works will be funded by a $16 million loan from the state government, repayable over 25 years.
Peninsula Health CEO Sue Williams said the extra space was “excellent news for our patients, staff and visitors”.
“The ongoing expansion and redevelopment of the hospital has increased the burden on car parking spaces,” she said.
“The existing multi-deck car park, which opened in 2013, provides 570 spaces and these are often full by 8.30am.
“The new car park will better service the increasing number of visitors to Frankston hospital.”
The car park, on the site of the Dundas St car park, will have four lifts, CCTV coverage of all vehicles and pedestrian entry and exit points.
Tender applications close on 21 July with construction expected to start in November.
