POLICE found allegedly stolen cars, motor bikes and bicycles valued at more than $250,000 when they raided a Seaford property overnight, Friday 15 July.
Detective Senior Constable Richard Thomson, of Frankston CIU, said the raid followed reports of a stolen car being housed at the Holroyd St property.
He said the cars, including two BMW four-wheel-drives, late model VW Polo, Nissan Skyline and Nissan X-Trail, had been nicked in aggravated burglaries in the Hampton-Brighton areas since mid-June.
A teenage girl arrested at the property will appear at a children’s court at a later date.
Following up, police returned to the property, Thursday 21 July, and chased a man they saw in the backyard.
The 22-year-old, of Altona North, was arrested and charged with theft of motor cars. He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court, 2 August.
The man is also charged with the theft of a car from the Nunawading train station, 16 July.
Police are seeking public assistance in relation to on-going suspicious activity in Holroyd St. This may include seeing young drivers in expensive cars.
