A YOUNG hoon rammed a police car in Frankston North, 7.30pm, Sunday 24 July. Carrum Downs Senior Sergeant Ron Barbary said police were called to Tilia Ct after reports of teenagers “causing trouble”, but no one was arrested.

He said a Mercedes four-wheel-drive, possibly driven by a member of the group, did a U-turn and slammed into the side of the police car, causing up to $5000 damage. The male driver – age unknown – sped off.

Sergeant Barbary said the car had been chased by police earlier in the evening in Langwarrin, but they had been unable to apprehend it.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident. They should call Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
