A MAN has been charged with arson, stalking, intentionally causing injury and assault with a weapon after a car was set alight outside a Carrum Downs factory, 8.40pm, Friday 25 November.

Detective Sergeant Gary Richards, of Frankston CIU, said police would allege the 21-year-old, of no fixed address, went to the Frankston Gardens Drive factory where the victim works and poured petrol over his car parked outside before setting it alight.

They say the offender, armed with a box cutter, confronted the victim, 36, of Seaford, and chased him a short distance before they scuffled and he left the scene.

The victim’s car was totally destroyed and he suffered a small laceration to his thumb.

Detective Richards said the man had been remanded in custody to reappear at the Frankston Magistrate’s Court, 23 December.
