A BAY Trail cyclist was punched in the face by a jogger after they almost ran into each other, 1.25pm, Sunday 5 March.

The victim said he was riding south on the Beach Rd track near Herbert St, Parkdale, when a runner approached on his side of the path. He told the man to keep left. The runner called for him to stop, then punched him in the face causing two cuts, swelling and bleeding.

The attacker, who continued running north, is described as 40-50, tall, fit looking, tanned, possibly red hair, wearing a cap, white shirt and shorts.

The victim said there were many people on the path but no one stopped to help him.
