Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a burglary which occurred at a café in Frankston in April.

Officers have been told a thief broke walked into the café, which is located inside a shopping complex on Beach Street, about 7am.

Once inside the store the man located a safe and stolen a large sum of money.

The man then left the complex and was last seen headed along Beach Street.

The offender is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, about 170cm tall and with a thin build.

At the time of the offence he was wearing a blue baseball cap, black hooded top, light coloured pants and black runners.

Police have released an image of a man that they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
