A CAB driver was cheated of his fare by two women he collected at Clayton Medical Centre and drove to a house in White St, Mordialloc, 5.30pm, Wednesday 17 August.

Police said when the women, with two children, arrived at their address one of the women attempted to pay by credit card but it was declined.

She said she would get the fare money from inside and the cabbie accepted a driver’s licence as ID.

The women got out and took the children inside and did not return. The cabbie called police who spoke to a woman at the house: she told them she would “pay soon”.

The police contacted the woman named on the driver’s licence who said she had lost it previously.

Police are matching footage on the cab’s CCTV with the identities of the women in the cab in the hope of reclaiming the cabbies’ fare.
