The Roberts St woman grappled with the offender, 27, of no fixed address, and held her until police arrived.
The woman was charged over previous incidents at Dandenong and Chelsea Heights, including four counts of theft, three theft of motor cars, two burglaries and theft from a motor car.
She was also charged with handling stolen goods and unlicensed driving. The woman allegedly used one of the stolen cars – a 2007 BMW – to drive to the house where she was arrested.
