AN out of control blaze has caused extensive damage to one home in Mentone and spread to two others.

35 firefighters attended the Flinders Street home, which caught fire at around 11am on Wednesday 10 October.

The blaze was brought under control within 50 minutes, as smoke filled the skies above Mentone and Cheltenham.

Nobody was injured in the fire. The cause of the outbreak is currently under investigation.
