A HEAD of iceberg lettuce has been found to contain a 75 millimetre nail at Carrum Downs Coles on Ballarto Road.

The nail was pulled from the product by a customer at 1.40 pm on 3 November. Management took the product from the customer, and called police to investigate.

Police said that staff had told them the shelves had been restocked just 10 minutes prior to the discovery of the foreign object.

CCTV of the aisle proved inconclusive as to whether the nail had been put there accidentally or maliciously.
