Police are appealing for information following a theft from a Cheltenham jeweller last week.

It is believed the man entered a jeweller at the Nepean Highway shopping complex shortly before 2pm on 20 November.

While a staff member was distracted, the man lifted a glass panel and took six gold chain necklaces before leaving the store.

Investigators have released a CCTV image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30’s or 40’s with a thin build and a receding hairline.

He was wearing a blue polo shirt, jeans, sunglasses and white runners.

Anyone with information or who may recognise the man is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
