A WILD night of weather kept the SES busy, overnight 10 July.

Chelsea SES took to social media on 10 July to say “it’s turning into a very busy night for Black Team who are currently out to jobs in Aspendale Gardens, Patterson Lakes, Chelsea Heights and Carrum. We have also just had a request to assist Frankston unit who have been hit hard by tonight’s crazy weather. The wind is still howling and now joined by torrential rain, thunder and lightning.”

The next day they provided an update, saying “after a busy 24 hours, the dust is slowly settling for your Chelsea SES volunteers. After clearing the jobs in our own area and returning to our HQ around 1.30am, some of our members were back out today, assisting Frankston, who were one of the hardest hit areas last night.”

“On behalf of all of our members, a big thank you for the many kind words,” they said.

6.4mm of rain hit in less than an hour at around 10pm, 10 July.
