WORKS on a new path to “improve the connectivity between Patterson River and the National Water Sports Centre in Bangholme” have been completed.
Carrum MP Sonya Kilkenny said the path was “a big step forward in creating connections for the local community.”
“This is such a popular area for local families, pedestrians and cyclists. This new, paved path will extend a trail that runs alongside the northern bank of the Patterson River, allowing everyone to travel safely under Wells Road and the Mornington Peninsula freeway and on to the National Water Sports Centre and beyond,” she said.
“Last year we spoke at length with the community about what they wanted to see for the area. This project is about delivering for their needs.
“The project is part of a package of works, which also includes a site clean-up, maintenance works on the rowing shed, the design of a new community building, and the creation and partial implementation of a traffic management plan.”
