Police from Caulfield Divisional Response Unit have arrested a man following the discovery of cannabis crop in Chelsea Heights this morning.

Two search warrants were executed this morning as part of Operation Dexterous in Chelsea Heights and Carrum Downs.

Investigators uncovered a large and sophisticated hydroponic cannabis crop of over 100 mature plants at a residence in Jennison St, Chelsea Heights about 6.30am.

Simultaneously, a 30-year-old man was arrested at a McCormicks Rd, Carrum Downs residence where a large amount of cash was also seized.

The Carrum Downs man is currently assisting police with their enquiries and is expected to be charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of a drug of dependence.
