Police are investigating a fatal car crash that claimed the life of a man in Seaford last night.

It is believed a blue Ford sedan was travelling north along Frankston-Dandenong Road when the driver lost control about 10.30pm.

The vehicle veered off the road and crashed into tree.

The driver, a 41-year-old Carrum Downs man, died at the scene.

Police are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage that may have been in the area at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
