A DOG has been seized after an alleged attack on Heatherhill Road, Frankston last week.
It is alleged that a dog was involved in an attack on Sunday, 2 February. Frankston Council officers seized the dog on 4 February, and will hold it in custody until an investigation is completed.
A 44-year-old Frankston woman has been charged with owning a dog that bit a person causing serious injury, failing to have effective control of a dog in public, and failing to register a dog.
A council statement read that it has “seized the dog in question in accordance with the Domestic Animals Act”.
“Our officers would like to thank members of the public who provided information to assist in the early stages of this investigation,” the statement read.
“Due to the sensitive nature of this incident and the pending court case, council will not be commenting any further on this matter.”
