A woman has died in hospital following a two-car collision in Aspendale Gardens on Friday.

It is believed a grey Holden Commodore sedan was making a right-hand turn from Wells Road onto Gilchrist Way when it collided with a green Mitsubishi sedan travelling north on Wells Road just after 12pm on 21 February.

A 95-year-old Chelsea woman, who was a passenger in the Mitsubishi, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

She later died on 25 February.

Two other occupants, both Chelsea women aged 55 and 25-years-old, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Commodore, a 54-year-old Dandenong man, was arrested at the scene and has been released pending further enquiries.

Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone that may have been in the area at the time of the collision.

Anyone with information or dash cam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
