LIBRARY patrons are being asked to return books, in anticipation of library doors opening again.

Return chutes are now open at Frankston, Carrum Downs and Seaford libraries.

A statement from Frankston Council read that “items currently out on loan are due back from Wednesday 1 July, so there isn’t an immediate rush to return your items, however we’d love it if you could please include a trip to one of our libraries to return your items as part of your errands in the coming weeks.”

“Our priority is the health and wellbeing of our staff, visitors and the broader community. Please be patient as we slowly transition back to being a fully functioning library service.”

Frankston libraries will quarantine books for 72 hours before returning them to shelves.

If you have books but are feeling unwell, you are asked to hold onto them and call library staff on 9784 1020 to let them know.

A click and collect service may be implemented at the library before doors are opened.
