Detectives from Taskforce Paragon have charged a 49-year old Frankston man in relation to the Eastern Freeway fatal collision where four police officers were killed on 22 April.

The man was arrested in Lyndhurst on 1 August about 9.20am.

He has been charged with four counts of manslaughter and was expected to appear before an out of sessions hearing that night.

The arrest follows an extensive 3-month investigation led by Road Policing Operations and Investigation Division with the assistance of specialist investigators from across Victoria Police.
