A MAN is in a serious but stable condition after a stabbing in Frankston last week.

At around 12.05am, 19 September, police were called to Petrie Street after reports of a stabbing were made. They found a 35-year-old at the scene with a laceration to his neck.

The man was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

At a nearby house, police arrested a 38-year-old man. He is assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigators believe that the parties are known to each other.
