VICTORIA’S 28-day run without COVID-19 recorded in the community was broken on 3 February.
A hotel quarantine worker tested positive to COVID-19 after last working at the Grand Hyatt on 29 January. Following the 26-year-old Noble Park man’s positive test the Department of Health updated its list of exposure sites, including locations in Keysborough.
One of the exposure sites was the Aces Sporting Club driving range on the corner of Springvale Road and Hutton Road, Keysborough, between 10pm and 11.15pm 30 January. Anyone who visited the range during that time is asked to get a coronavirus test, and remain isolated for 14 days.
Kmart Keysborough in Parkmore Shopping Centre on Cheltenham Road was also listed as an exposure site. Anyone who visited that store between 4pm and 5pm on 31 January was also asked to get tested and isolate.
The Melbourne Golf Academy at 385 Centre Dandenong Road, Heatherton, between 5.19pm and 6.36pm on 1 February was also an exposure site.
After the new COVID-19 case was discovered, new restrictions were put into place statewide. The limit on the number of people gathering in a household was reduced from 30 to 15 again. Masks were also made mandatory in public indoor spaces.
The 75 per cent return to work plan scheduled for 8 February was postponed.
