Frankston Police have charged a man following an alleged burglary in Langwarrin South last night.

The man was arrested after the victim returned home to his Shepherds Hut Road property about10pm.

He observed a silver Nissan Maxima in the driveway of the property with the doors and boot open.

The victim, a 79-year-old, called Triple Zero (000) and before police arrived, he and his neighbour, a 53-year-old man, confronted the alleged offender in the driveway of the property.

Police arrived shortly after and arrested a 44-year-old Frankston South man.

A search of the Nissan located a loaded 12-gauge shotgun, a compound bow, ammunition and a large quantity of what police will allege is stolen property.

He has been charged with burglary, possess firearm, possess ammunition and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

The man was remanded and will appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court today.

The investigation is ongoing as police attempt to identify the owners of the property that was located in the vehicle.
