Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a string of alleged offending in Frankston, Carrum Downs, Moorabbin and Seaford earlier this week.
Detectives arrested the 20-year-old man earlier this morning at a property in Gamble Road in Carrum Downs.
He faces 20 charges including attempted kidnapping, attempted child stealing, unlawful assault, theft of motor vehicle, possess controlled weapon, possess imitation firearm, affray, careless driving, criminal damage, possessing a drug of dependence.
The arrest follows the alleged attempted kidnapping of a teenage girl at a bus stop in Ashleigh Avenue, Frankston, about 7.30am yesterday.
It also follows an incident in Carrum Downs about 2pm where a firearm was used to allegedly threaten two motorists in a car and an incident at a shopping centre on Nepean Hwy in Moorabbin where the man was allegedly causing issues and ran off from security.
The man, of no fixed address, is expected to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.
Detectives continue to appeal for the good Samaritan to come forward who stepped in to assist a young woman during the alleged kidnapping in Frankston.
Detectives are appealing for the man, who was male and driving a blue sedan, and anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
