A CARRUM Downs man has been arrested after allegedly driving drunk and being involved in a crash last week.
At around 4.30pm on 19 August, a white Ford ute collided with a Triton ute travelling in the same direction on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway. Police allege that the Ford had been “driving erratically”.
The Triton became airborne after the crash, and hit the safety rail.
Police allege that the Ford driver had to stop his car because of the damage sustained, but still attempted to flee. Police arrived and took him to the police station where he allegedly returned an evidentiary breath test reading of 0.224.
The 27-year-old man from Carrum Downs is expected to be charged with multiple offences.
