A TEMPORARY vaccine clinic will open in Mordialloc for local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The Derrimut Weelam Gathering Place at 199 Beach Rd, Mordialloc will host a COVID vaccination clinic for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from 9.30am to 4.30pm on 8 September. The clinic is run in partnership with Dandenong & District Aborigines Co-Operative Limited, Connect Health, and Central Bayside Health. Both Pfizer and AstraZeneca jabs will be available.

The Derrimut Weelam Gathering Place group have recently had to postpone multiple events because of COVID-19 restrictions. The Spring Blak Market has been rescheduled to Saturday 30 October. The event will feature market stalls run by Indigenous artists.

Plans are still in place for DWGP to run a Family Footy Day from 10am to 3pm on 23 September.  It will also host three online talks this month, and an online Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health First Aid event.
