MORE than half of Frankston’s residents aged 15 and over are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to data published last week, 50.5 per cent of residents inside the Frankston local government area have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. A little under 81 per cent of residents have received at least one dose.
In neighbouring Mornington Peninsula Shire, more than 88 per cent of residents aged 15 plus have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine. 83.9 per cent have in Kingston.
As of 7 October there are 138 active cases of COVID-19 among Frankston residents.
Peninsula Health undertook a “vaccination walk-in blitz” at four of its vaccination clinics last week. It focused on administering the Moderna vaccine to people aged between 12 and 59.
From 15 October, all authorised workers will require a first COVID-19 vaccine dose to work onsite. Authorised workers must be fully vaccinated by 26 November. Workers in construction, freight, healthcare, aged care, and education must follow previously given Chief Health Officer directions on vaccination.
