PENINSULA Aquatic Recreation Centre was a big winner at the Aquatics and Recreation Victoria awards this year.

The Frankston pool and gym was named the health club of the year. PARC employee Pru Drago also won big on the night, taking home the award for personal trainer of the year.

Award winner Pru Drago helps run PARC’s eight week challenge and small group personal training membership. She ran online programs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ms Drago said it was an “honour” to win the award. “In what was a really challenging year for us all to be recognised and take out these awards is so incredible,” she said.

Peninsula Leisure CEO Katherine Thom said “we are so honoured and excited to be recognised as the state’s best health club here at PARC. This award is testament to the tireless hours put in by our staff and I would like to thank the entire Peninsula Leisure team for their stewardship of this amazing facility. You have demonstrated a consistent and unwavering focus from our goal to keep the community moving and active. Well done.”

PARC will run a “year of health” event in March, featuring free workouts and other activities. To keep up to date visit facebook.com/parcfrankston
