FUNDING towards a fit-for-purpose building for Nairm Marr Djambana has been promised by federal Labor if it wins the upcoming election.

Labor has committed $850,000 to the project, which will see the portable buildings at the site replaced.

Nairm Marr Djambana is a gathering place in Frankston for First Nations people. A master plan has been drafted for the site, with a vision towards achieving better health and wellbeing outcomes for First Nations people.

Dunkley MP Peta Murphy said the funding would help the group achieve their vision. “I’m pleased to be able to commit to this project if Labor wins the election this May. It will provide culturally safe and accessible facilities for the growing First Nations community in Frankston,” she said. “These upgrades will support the terrific work of the local First Nations community to improve health, cultural and social outcomes. I’m very proud to support them”.
