SEVEN candidates will be on the ballot in the electorate of Isaacs at next month’s federal election.
The deadline has passed for candidates to nominate for the federal election. Ballots were drawn last week.
Mark Dreyfus will recontest the seat for the Labor Party. He has been the member for Isaacs since 2007. Labor has held the seat since 1996.
Former Bridge Hotel operator Robbie Beaton is the Liberal Party candidate.
There are no independents contesting Isaacs at this election. Pauline Hanson’s One Nation candidate Boris Sokiranksy drew the top spot on the ballot, and will appear first on the voting paper.
Alex Breskin is the Greens candidate. Scott McCamish will contest for the United Australia Party. Sarah O’Donnell is running for the Liberal Democratic Party, and Alix Livingstone is the candidate for the Animal Justice Party.
The election will be held on 21 May.
Nine candidates are seeking election in neighboring Dunkley. Labor MP Peta Murphy holds the seat, which is shaping as a key seat in the election battle. The Liberals have selected lawyer and former Survivor contestant Sharn Coombes to run for Dunkley. In the seat of Flinders held by retiring Liberal MP Greg Hunt, 10 candidates are running.
