A DOG is helping kids at Frankston Library improve their reading abilities.
The canine companion is at the library as part of the Reading Tails program, designed for kids aged 7 to 13. Shirley the dog accompanies children while they read.
Frankston City Libraries Manager Laura Antoniak, said that the free program is designed to be “a way to help and support their literacy goals and achievement is an incredible feeling.”
“Not only are the results seen in the children’s abilities across the term, but each week their eagerness to participate and interact with our Reading Tails furry friend, Shirley, and each other is a credit to the program,” she said.
